Obituary of Lawrence David Welsh

Welsh, Lawrence, B.A., Dip. Journalism - University of Western Ontario.Suddenly, on Friday October 5th, 2012 at home in Southampton, Ontario. Larry was the loving and loved husband and sweetheart of Heather and favourite looker-after of their rescued cat, Corrigan. He was born in London, Ontario on January 16th, 1933, the youngest red-headed son of an Irish mother and a Scottish father, Kathleen and David Welsh. Brother of Irene and Frank (deceased), son in law of Joan and Donald Sinclair (both deceased), Brother in law of Rita Welsh and Lesley Sinclair (both deceased). Larry was the proud uncle of Frank and Rita's seven children: John, Maureen, Peter, Paul, Stephen, Michael and Suzanne and their families. His working career was varied, but he always felt lucky to have gone back to school to study journalism. Starting in 1966, Larry was a reporter at The Toronto Telegram, then The Globe and Mail Report on Business and lastly a magazine editor at Southam. He retired after a fulfilling 33 year career in journalism. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Saturday morning, October 13th, 2012 at 11:30. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London. " Pray for me, and I for thee, That we may merrily meet in heaven."
