Obituary of Wesley Allan Whelan

Whelan, Wesley It is with sadness and many wonderful memories that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather at home with family on October 7, 2012 age 77 years. We thank him for his love, guidance, and laughter throughout our 56 years together. Wesley Allan Whelan (Wes) loving husband of Marilyn, dearly loved father and father in law of Stephen and Cathy Whelan of Ingersoll, Ontario, Joanne and David Duff of Novi, Michigan, and John and Pam Whelan of Kitchener, Ontario. Cherished "Gramps", "Grampa", and "Ooshie" of Ben and Petya Whelan, Megan Whelan, Nick, Jordan, and Madison Duff, and Zachary and Zane Whelan. Dear brother and brother in law of Albert and Molly Dougan. Dear brother in law of Gary Costigan of Dallas, Texas. Predeceased by his beloved son Terry, his parents Allan and Muriel Whelan, his in laws John and Miriam Costigan, brother in law Allan Costigan, and infant grandson Maxwell Duff. Our sincere gratitude to all who supported us through Wes's illness, family and friends, West London Family Health Center, London Cancer Center, CCAC, V.O.N, and St. Elizabeth nurses. Cremation has taken place and as per Wes's wishes there will be no visitation. Private family graveside service will take place. Family, friends, and neighbors are invited to a celebration of Wes's life at Sunningdale Golf & Country Club, 465 Sunningdale Road West, on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 3 to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Prostate Cancer Research in care of the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
