Obituary of Anne Swift
SWIFT, Anne Joanne
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully with her family at her side August 4, 2012 at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care (Marian Villa) in her 96th year.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Charles Swift (1980). Devoted and beloved mother of Geraldine Masse and her husband Jerry, John Swift and his wife Lynda, Joseph Swift and his wife Mary Anne, Janice Game and her husband Bryan and the late Josephine Ketelaars (1998).
Anne was happiest when surrounded by her family and cherished time with her (13) grandchildren and (10) great grandchildren.
Cherished grandmother of Becky Cartland (Grant), Tanya Marques (Joe), Jeff Ketelaars (Shannon), Jennifer Ketelaars, Amanda Ketelaars, Brad Ketelaars (Jackie Foreman), Tracey Swift (John Regan), Jessica Swift, Laura Swift (Waseem El-Halabi), Kelly Swift (Jamie Carson) Jody Boughner (Rob), Joe Game (Katherine Raedts), and the late Heather Swift (2004).
Loving great grandmother of Logan, Bailey, Paige, Matthew, Jenna, Daria, Bradee, Brooklyn, Grady and Allie.
The memory of her selflessness and the depth of her generosity will be an inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to have known her. We will never forget her wonderful smile and the twinkle in her eye.
She was Gram, Nana and Grandma Swifty; she was Lawrence Welk and Polka Time; she was scotch mints, KitKat candy bars and classic black and white movies; she was a cold beer on a warm day and a shot of brandy on a cold night; she was a bowl of regular potato chips and a Maple Leaf hockey game on Saturday; she was Mass and roast beef dinner on Sunday. She was the epitome of love and she never missed an opportunity to say "I love yous all".
A special thanks to the first floor staff at Marion Villa for their loving care over the last 8 years. Each and every one of them has our true admiration. It takes a very special person to care for the sick, the frail, the vulnerable and the elderly.
