Obituary of Samuel Desmond Neill

Peacefully, at his home in London, Ontario on Monday, September 28th, 1992. Professor at the School of Library and Information Science, University of Western Ontario. Loved and loving husband of Mary; loved and loving father of Marianne, Robert, Christopher, Samuel and Elizabeth and grandfather of Shannon and Finn. Son of Margaret Neill and the late Robert Neill of Thunder Bay. Dear brother of Robin Neill and Margaret Cunningham of Ottawa, Terrence Neill of Long Island, New York. Beloved by all his family members-in-law: George Grieve and Frank Greive of Toronto, Connie Harris of Toronto, Juliette Merritt, Robert Haas, Maurice Therrien, Jessu Huerta Marquez, Carroll Neill and Sharon Neill. Visitors will be received at John T. Donahue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo St. at King on Wednesday, September 30th from 7-9 pm, and Thursday, October 1st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica on Friday, October 2nd at 1 o’clock. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Prayers Thursday evening at 7 o’clock. Donations to the Samuel D. Neill Scholarship Fund, c/o School of Library and Information Science, University of Western Ontario would be appreciated.
