Obituary of Francesco Maria D'Arrisso
Peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Francesco D'Arrisso in his 93rd year.
Devoted husband to Giuseppina (nee Del Re) for 66 years. Deeply loved father to Antonio D'Arrisso (Lucia), Anna Dzongowski (Peter), and Silvana Pacifico (Salvatore). Proud and cherished Nonno to Perry (Kayla), Samantha (Nathan), Emily (Wesley), Elena, David, Alex, Michael, and Erin. Special great grandfather to Paxton, Ramona, and Maverick. Predeceased by siblings Giuseppina Minelli, Angelo, and Suor Filomena as well as brothers and sisters-in-law Antonio Minelli, Antonietta D'Arrissi, Salvatore D'Andrea, Pasquale Pepe, and Giovanni Circelli. Fondly remembered by in-laws Concetta Circelli, Maria D'Andrea, Antonietta Pepe, Michele and Maria Del Re and many nieces and nephews.
Francesco was born in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy and came to Canada in 1958. Like many immigrants of this era, he arrived with little money, but equipped with a remarkable work ethic and determination. From these modest beginnings, he built a life of personal and professional success and enjoyed a well-deserved retirement including travel, family gatherings, gardening, and wine-making. Above all, he was a quiet and humble man who led by example, embodying resilience, honesty, integrity, and devotion to his faith. His family will remember his kind and gentle nature coupled with his witty sense of humour.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London, Ontario on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm and Monday, December 23, 2024 from 8:30am - 9:30am. Prayers will be held on Sunday at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 345 Lyle Street, London, Ontario at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Holy Family Mausoleum, 806 Victoria Street, London, Ontario. Please consider a donation to St. Mary's Church Fund in lieu of flowers.
