We express condolences Sharon and family and all those held dear.
I worked closely with Bill on rail projects to move finished locomotives to many parts of the world. Bill and I travelled far and wide. We worked well together and I got to know the man - a man of integrity,always pleasant and ready to talk with pride about his girls Erin and Shanna.

Our condolences to the Burns family. I got to know Bill from our years at General Motors Diesel. He always had a big smile, the most friendly person one would ever want to meet, and as noted was well known in many parts of the world for his demeanour and expertise in Transportation. Bill was a very highly specialized transportation expert and no assignment was too big or difficult for Bill to handle. He will be sorely missed by all.

My deepest condolences to the Burns' family. I worked with Bill at GM/GD Defence and had the opportunity to travel to Switzerland with Bill. He took the time to tour me around and show me points of interest. He was truly in love with Switzerland and we had an opportunity to take the train to Lucerne and travel the mountains by train. As a result, I too now love Switzerland almost as much as Bill did. Bill had such an easy-going way with him --- nothing seemed to stress him out. I'm so glad that I made that business trip with him and that he took the time to show me the Switzerland he loved. He will be missed. Travel far and wide on the other side Bill ... heaven must have needed a good tour guide.

There is no words to express the sadness and heartfelt feelings that the family and friends are feeling and enduring at this time. My heart goes out to everyone that shared in Bill's wonderful life and thinking of everyone at this time. Bill was a great man always had a smile on his face, a wonderful co-worker at GM and a good friend. I'm truly thankful that I had the pleasure working with Bill and our happy chats we had :). Yes after Electro-Motive closed the doors still kept in touch but life got busy and wasn't in touch as much. Sharon, Erin, Shanna I'm truly here for you all if you need anything.
