Dear Brenda, Jim, and Bob's nieces and nephews: Please accept my utmost sincere condolences on the deeply profound loss of your brother and uncle. I was fortunate to have been a close friend to "Chin" (short for the nick-name we gave him of "Chinzano) ever since 1984 when he joined Guelph Police where I had started two years previous. I left to become a London firefighter in 1990 and Bob followed me there two years later. We played ball together for a number of years, and Bob was a very good and dedicated player. Although we were never on the same shift as firefighters we always kept in touch through the good and tough times. I truly enjoyed our many discussions in person (often at lunch at Joe Kools) or on the phone, especially in recent years after he retired from LFD. Bob had the uncanny ability to recall full names, dates of birth, and all details of many incidents and arrests he and I had shared together while police officers. We shared an unreal experience - a successful police chase from Guelph to Milton, that we recounted often. Bob spoke to me about his nieces that I know he loved very much. We last spoke last month and I wish we could have said our goodbyes. Thanks for all the great memories my friend. May "Chin" rest in peace.

Chin , We will miss you dearly Buddy. We will always remember you as the “go to” guy who watched out for us all. He made Guelph a safer place to live. As a young man he always had the “bad guys” on the run.
Brothers forever.
