Norma Moore

Obituary of Norma Anne Moore

Norma Anne Moore (nee Hare) passed away surrounded by her family at Victoria Hospital on May 29, 2024, after a very sudden decline in her health. Beloved partner of John Benbow for 11 years. Dear mother of David Williams (Anita), James Williams (Donna), and Cheryl Urbano (Tony). Adored grandmother of Melanie Horn (Avery), Trevor Williams, Skyler Williams, Ciara Urbano, and Mariah MacGregor. Treasured GG to her “little darlings”, Hendrix Horn, Harley Horn, Isaiah Benneh, and Ivory Benneh. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she reveled in her time spent with them all, attending hockey games, skating carnivals, school plays, birthday parties and hosting weekend visits. Special friend to Jennifer Kirkham and Aleta MacGregor (Terry).

Predeceased by her husband, Donald Moore (2007), her parents, Norm and Leota Hare (O’Brien), and her brother, Leo Hare. She will be sadly missed by many cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Simcoe Ontario, Norma was a student of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School in Fort Erie, where she walked each morning alongside Leo. After her family moved to London, she attended St. Martin’s Catholic Elementary School, then high school at Catholic Central. Norma wore many professional hats, but her career as an Educational Assistant who adored teaching her students was her greatest triumph. She possessed a thirst for knowledge and kept up with the world around her. As she would say, she was “smart as a whip”. She was highly active throughout her life, never turning down the chance to go golfing, out walking, splash at Aquafit, or work out at the gym. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher, providing gourmet meals to feathered visitors. Her lifelong adventures took her to Europe, across Canada, and all over the United States, her most favourite vacation spot being the Villages in Florida. She loved music, taking every opportunity to dance like nobody was watching. An indomitable woman with a sharp sense of humour, her positive attitude, unwavering patience, kindness, and joie de vivre will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Enjoy the golf courses in heaven Norma, until we meet again.
