I can remember the first time I met Mr Di Nucci, back in the '80s, when I was visiting the Di Nucci residence for the first time, and Mr Di Nucci greeted me with a huge smile and genuine warmth, immediately making me feel welcome in their home. I learned that smile and warmth were characteristic of Mr Di Nucci.
I have a very fond memory of working alongside Mr Di Nucci to re-shingle the roof of his son's home (Phil). I say I was working alongside him, but really I was trying and failing to keep up: Mr Di Nucci would hoist a stack of shingles onto his shoulder, and quickly climb the ladder to the roof, all at a pace that left me exhausted and far behind. What a guy! That was the kind of energy that made him such a success.
The last time I saw Mr Di Nucci was at the wedding of his grandson, where he danced, smiling and radiating joy, and making everyone around him smile and feel special.
You will be missed, Mr Di Nucci, but not forgotten. Sincere condolences from Don, Valerie, Myles and Abby Cooper. Rest in peace.
