Surrounded by his family at LHSC Victoria Hospital, on Thursday, February 22, 2024 Fortunato Ielapi at the age of 90.  Loving husband of 67 years of Anna.  Cherished father of Barb (late Frank) Ferrari, late Carmela (Mike) Vecchio, Dominic (Annamaria) Ielapi, Immacolata (Pietro) Zarola, Vince (Cyrstal) Ielapi, Frank (Deborah) Ielapi.  Proud Nonno of 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Dear brother of Giuseppe (Vittoria) Ielapi, and Filomena (Francesco) Buccina and brother-in-law of Maria Ielapi, Angela (late Poalo), Antonietta (Teresio) and Carmela (late Giuseppe).  Predeceased by his siblings Francescoantonio (Maria), Catarina (Giuseppe), Concetta (Tommaso), Carmela (Vincenzo) and Antonio.  Zio Fortunato will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.  Fortunato will be remembered as a father, grandfather, friend and inspiration to many;  his resilence, kindness and strength will leave an everlasting impact.   The family wish to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital and the PSW's that came to the house for the care Fortunato received.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, February 23 from 5-8 o'clock.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Saturday, February 24 at 12 noon.  Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery.
