Obituary of Susanne Zierhofer

Zierhofer, Susanne (nee Jankner) July 6, 1929 - February 7, 2024

With deep sorrow we announce the loss of our loving mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother.

Susi was also a wonderful wife to William, who predeceased her in 2011. To him, she will always be his “Mausi”.

She will be missed for her kindness and unconditional generosity, as well as her enduring love for her family. And of course, her extraordinary Austrian cooking. Mom was far too modest to even recognize her accomplishments and qualities, but we all appreciated them, while she dedicated herself to being a caring Mutti, Grossmutti, and Oma to 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 6.5 great grandchildren. Susi was a role model and confidante not only to family members, but to their friends.

Her delightful sense of humour will keep us all giggling for years to come, and her “oma-isms” have become part of the family lexicon.We cannot aspire to her level of devotion to bingo, but we are doing our best to maintain our skills at Phase 10 in her memory. We are grateful to the staff in the Orthopedic Surgery unit at University Hospital in London, who did their utmost to make her last few days and hours comfortable.

We all miss you so much our beloved Goldfish, and we hope you are resting in peace in Phase 11. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to University Hospital, London ON.
