Just as the hearth is the centre of the home, Barb was the heart of her family radiating love, support, guidance and patience to her children and their children.
I was privileged to see this on many occasions involving graduations, marriages, births and holiday celebrations. And she was pretty good at board games at the kitchen table (except for Pictionary).
The house she and Bob lived in was a gathering place on those occasions with cars lined up in front and family crowded into the kitchen while she and her daughters were trying to prepare dinner. But they always pulled it off with remarkable success.
She leaves behind a greatly expanded family with many memories of her as a role model and an acknowledgment of how important she was in all our lives.
My condolences to her family, to her loved ones and friends.
