Douglas William Patterson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving husband and father.  Douglas “Doug” Patterson died at McCormick Home with his cherished wife and best friend of 26 years (Margaret Eldridge) by his side on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at the age of 87.  He was a cherished father to Melissa Patterson of London.  He was also loved and will be missed by his sister-in-law, Marion Juhasz (Walter Dona), his nephew, Brenden (Crystal) Dona, his niece, Marissa (Jordan) Twemlow and his great nieces Autumn and Piper Dona, all of British Columbia.

Doug loved spending time with his family in BC.  He will be remembered as a fun loving jokester, with a belly laugh that will be missed by all. He was a lifelong Montreal Canadians fan, who loved all sports, enjoyed the outdoors, loved to travel and never met an animal he didn’t like.  He enjoyed home cooked meals prepared by his mother-in-law (Anna Juhasz) each Sunday before her passing.  He also loved spending time with his daughter, especially dinners, London Knights games and their frequent phone calls.

Special thanks to staff and friends at McCormick Home for their care and compassion.  

A service followed by visitation/reception will be held at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday January 27, 2024 from 3:00-4:00 pm.  Cremation has taken place.  Memorial donations may be made to McCormick Care Group or the Alzheimer Society of London & Middlesex.
