My extraordinary 'Aunt Marie'! She was so engaging and welcoming. No wonder she found herself with so many friends in life. She could laugh at herself and had a superb memory to the end of her extraordinarily long life.. Her resilience after suffering one of life's great tragedies..sudden loss of a beloved child in a terrible accident..has given me a lifelong lesson in coping, recovery and meaningful engagement after that. I was lucky to have her in my life.... the last of my parents' generation of that era of life in rural southern New Brunswick. I will miss our bimonthly telephone conversations with me in Vancouver and she in London, Ontario!
