Passed away peacefully at Chartwell Long Term Care Residence, London on Sunday, September 3, 2023 Antonietta Mescia (nee Cifaldi) in her 87th year. Loving wife of the late Michele Mescia (2017). Dear mother of Rocco (Lynn) and Domenic (Linda). Cherished grandmother of the late Matthew, Michael (Linsey), Derek, Kiana and great-grandmother of Myla, and Dominic. Antonietta is survived by her brother Rocco Cifaldi and her sister Mary Cifaldi.
The Mescia family immigrated to Canada in 1958 from Italy. Mike and Antonia chose London, Ontario to begin a new chapter of their life, raising their family. Antonia worked at LacMac throughtout the years until retired. Antonio made sure to keep up the Italian tradition with home-made sauce, pastas, breads and sweets. She was an incredible cook, very well respected by family and friends, Antonia was incredible for her sacrifice in leaving Italy, not knowing English, to allow for her family an opportunity to have a better life and succeeded. Antonia and Michele raised two sons and she was lucky enough to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren added to the family. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Chartwell Long Term Care Residence for the amazing care and friendship Antonia received.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, September 8 from 3-6 o’clock. Funeral Mass will held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Saturday morning, September 9 at 10 o'clock. In lieu of flowers donations to Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario would be greatly appreciated.
