Piccoli, Nicola "Nick"
Suddenly at home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer, on Sunday May 21, 2023, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Maria of 62 years. Loved father of Mario (Trasi) and Rita. Cherished grandfather of Kayla, Julia, Alyssa and Nicholas. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Dear brother of Onorina Piccoli (late Carmine) and the late Camillo Piccoli (Adele). Dear brother-in-law of the late Antonio Teti (Rosanna), Giovanni Teti (Rita), Giuseppina Teti (Camillo), Luciana Teti (Fabrizio), and Franca Teti. Predeceased by his parents Marziale and Maria (nee Di Marino) Piccoli, and his nephew Marziale Piccoli. Nick immigrated to Canada in 1957 to work on the railroad at the age of 21. After 10 months, he settled in Toronto, Ontario and was taken in by the Sirianni’s who quickly became like family to him. After two years he moved to London to be close to his only cousin here in Canada, Aldo Piccoli (Anna). His first residence in London was the home of Antonio and Giuseppina Di Gugliemo. They became very close compare and lifelong friends. Nick worked in construction for other companies until he started his own, N. Piccoli Construction 40 years ago. He worked hard his entire life. He was a strong, courageous, and generous man. Nick was dedicated to his family, friends, and the Church. He loved to travel, garden and socializing with many family and friends. He was loved and respected by so many and will be greatly missed. Thank you to Dr. Gob, Dr. Malik, residents, nurses and PSWs of C7-400 of LHSC, for your kind care of our father. Thank you to Marci (homecare co-ordinator) for helping us get Dad home. Special thanks to Dr. Elepano for your support and trying so hard to help our Dad. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, May 26 from 2-4 and 6-9 o'clock. Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Saturday, May 27 at 10 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memory to St. Mary's Church or Lymphoma Canada would be appreciated.
