Elaine was a close friend of mine during the years that we worked together, and I have thought of her often since that time. She was a mentor to me, Elaine worked hard and in pain and never complained; I admired her for it. Some shifts, I swear, she never sat down even once. Her immense love for her family was obvious as she spoke of them often and in great detail. It makes me sad to learn of her passing, but I take solace in knowing that she is no longer having to endure the difficulties of living with dementia. To Elaine, I hope you are now with Emery and that the two of you are having the time of your afterlives. I want you to know that I cherished our friendship and that I still think of you often. Rest In Peace, my friend.
