We met Ron at Saunders Badminton club, it brightened our week to his smiling face on those courts. Sitting on the bench between games Ron became known to us as the one most well informed well read individuals we knew. If we asked him about something the research would begin, by the next week he would have articles and insights for us! We were so very fond of Ron and were thrilled to be invited to meet Janet. Golfing with them at Greenhills (because she insisted Thames Valley fairways never gave the ball a decent lie). Dinners at our house or theirs, stories about their kids while we sipped a Manhattan! Exploring the vast gardens and pondering how to grow blueberries! We wanted to sneak back over and drop pints of blueberries on those bushes he tried so hard to find the right soil for! We were sad to hear of Janet’s passing, and were so glad we found and visited Ron at his apartment a while back, but the visit was far too short, we planned to come again and now we shall cherish the great memories we had of his great smile and the twinkle in his eye. Such a wonderful man, so blessed to have had his friendship. Condolences to his family on the loss of such a kind thoughtful man. Brenda Roberts & Karen Hodge.
