Obituary of Genoveva Liza

GENOVEVA LIZA (PONCE DE LEON)

who loved to be called “ Genito,” departed her loving family peacefully on February 19, 2022.

Genoveva was born in Ayacucho, Perú on January 3, 1919. She was married to her husband, the late Felipe Liza, for 54 years. She survived her late brothers and sister, Abundio, Braulio, Aurelio, Ceferino, and Florisa Ponce de León.

Genoveva was mother to, Manuela Belda, Noemi Perzia and Isabel Gonzales. She raised her daughters with love and devotion in Lima, Perú, with her husband Felipe Liza. In 1998, Genoveva and Felipe moved to Canada to be closer to their children.

Dear grandmother of Patricia, Natalia, Tony Jr Belda, Luigi, Marcelo and Anita Perzia,  Diana and Raul Jr Gonzales. Dear great grandmother of Rio, Alex, and Mireya Ollis, Noelle, Indigo, and Luna Lake, Sofia, Sebastian, Sara y Sasha Shahabi, and Luigi Jr Perzia

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Wednesday February 23 2022, from 12:00 to 1:30pm with Funeral Service to follow. Those wishing to join the family via livestream may do so by  Clicking Here . Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, would be appreciated.
