Obituary of Maria Romeo Stracuzza

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye till we meet again of Maria Stracuzza (London, Ontario) who passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, leaving behind her family and friends that loved her. Loving wife of 67 years of Domenico Stracuzza.  Proud mother of John Stracuzza and Carmelina Josephine "Carmen" Dawdy (Gary Koot).  Loving Nonna and best friend of Dominic Stracuzza (Rosie), Maria Stracuzza (Kendall Walton). Step Nonna of Samnatha Olive (Derek), Rebecca Chambers (Charles), Kate Marak (Andrew), Angel Riccardi (Domenic Nunziata), Santana Stokes (Travis). Predeceased by her cherished siblings Giuseppe Romeo, Rocco Romeo, Domenico Romeo, Antonio Romeo, Catherina Romeo and Carmela Caminiti (Rocco). Also survived by her sister-in-law Maria Morena (Pasquale), brother-in-law  Guiseppe “Joe” Stracuzza (Rosa (2015)). Predeceased by her siblings-in-law, Carmela Cotroneo (Pasquale), Germano (Guiseppe), Vincenzo Stracuzza (Loretta) Francesca Gigliette (Giovanni). She loved all her nieces and nephews. Maria and Domenico owned and operated DJ’s pizza for many years. Special thanks to Dr. Moist who really cared for her. Thank you to Dr. Elia who was there till the end.  Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 o'clock. (1/2 hour increments). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10 o’clock.  Registration is required.  Please email donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca with your name and contact number.
