Obituary of Antonio Di Cicco
Di Cicco, Antonio "Tony"
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Antonio (Tony) Di Cicco in his 74th year. His wife, Elena, the love of his life for 51 years, accompanied him with tender love throughout their time together. Together they are very proud of the family they raised. Loving Dad to Rocco (Gabriella) Di Cicco, Marta (Joseph) Viglianti and Marco. Di Cicco. Tony’s greatest pride and joy was spending time with his grand-kids, Jordan Di Cicco, Samantha, Victoria and Alexa Viglianti and his favorite little grand-puppy, Joey.
Pre-deceased by his parents; Rocco (2019) and Marta (nee LaMarra-2012) and his mother -in-law Dora Rattazzi (1989), and father-in-law Antonio Rattazzi (1962).
He will be deeply missed by his brother Angelo (Filomena) Di Cicco, sister and brother in-laws, Lia Rattazzi, Vincenzo and Elisa DeBenedictis, Pasquale and Wilma Palombo and Natalino Rattazzi. Tony will be reuniting with his pre-deceased brother in-laws, Gino and Nestore Rattazzi.
Tony was always happy to spend time with his many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. He has never forgotten his roots, he was always connecting with everyone and happy to share his journey. His sense of humour and contagious smile will be missed by everyone. Tony was an avid hockey and soccer fan. He was passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs and A.C. Fiorentina. One of his most memorable moments was watching Italy win the Euro Cup in July 2021.
Tony was proud of his accomplishments in life. He immigrated from Italy in 1967 and spent his time developing life-long memories with his family and friends. He worked at Service Lamp – Philips Electronics as a Supervisor for 34 years until it closed in 2000. He then shared his Leaderships skills at Dana in St. Marys and retired from Sterling in St. Thomas.
Tony’s departure leaves a hole in the lives of all that knew him. His last few years involved endless health issues which he embraced with courage and determination, he never complained up to and including his last day. He was forever grateful to those that supported him and provided help when needed, a special shout-out to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pasquale and Wilma Palombo and great friend and neighbour Luisa Abrantes for their daily support for Tony and Elena with trips to and from Dialysis and compassionate support from Rick McDonald and Lucy Ashton.
Visitors will be received on Friday, January 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm (1/2 hour increments). Prayers will be at 3:00pm Registration is required. Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Saturday morning, January 8th at 9:30 am. Please email donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca to secure a seat.
