Frances Murray

Obituary of Frances Isabel Murray

Forever remembered and loved Frances Isabel (Allan) Murray on November 7, 2021, has blessedly left her earthly body. After a long struggle with the debilitating disease of Alzheimer. She is now at peace.

Fran was predeceased by her devoted husband J. Alistair (Al) Murray. Her loving parents Winetta and Douglas Allan. Her wonderful sister Ann Black and her husband Bob, brother-in-law George Christoff, her parents-in-law Margaret and Elder Barlow and son-in-law Shawn Fitzmaurice.

She will be greatly missed by her children Janice Dedels (Tom), Lisa Fitzmaurice (Brad) Michael Murray (Annette), they will carry her love and devotion in their hearts for the rest of their days. She leaves behind her much loved grandchildren Nigel Dedels (Ashley), Crystal Broser (Peter,) Stefanie Fitzmaurice (Ludwig), and Kayla Fitzmaurice (Damon).  She was blessed with 9 great grandchildren. Fran is also survived by her loving sister Carolyn Christoff and by several nieces and nephews.

The family can never thank our angel on earth Leada Lebedz enough for her kindness and care of Fran through out her illness. Fran was raised in London On. Where she was an honour student at South Collegiate. She went on to work at Bell as a drafts woman until she took time off to raise her family. Later in life she worked at Youngs jewellers, until finishing her work career at Canada Trust.

Mom's artistic talents and intellect were inspiring. Her love of ice cream unsurpassed. Mom was a fashionista with an eye for a bargain, but she loved the outdoors. Camping, sitting by a fire was one of her true pleasures in life. She cherished her time spent in Bayfield at her trailer with her friends and family.

Sadly, we watched as all things precious in her life slip away. So many memories taken. So many hearts broken, and so many years that we have already spent grieving. Fran embraced her friendships, and we thank you, her good friends for thinking of her on this day.

Mom did not want a service of any kind. It is fitting that she left during her favourite season. So, when you walk through the leaves on a beautiful fall day think of her and smile. Mom is finally at peace. We as a family would like to thank the angels at Elgin Manor for their wonderful care of Mom. Donations in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated to help with the battle against Alzheimer and dementia. Please visit https://alzswp.ca/

Mom made the decision to donate her body to science so that hopefully she can help in some small way.
