Obituary of Zdenek Cernovsky
Cernovsky, Dr. Zack (Zdenek) Ph.D., C.Psych.
Dr. Zack Cernovsky passed away at LHSC University Hospital, on Monday, October 25th 2021 after a brief illness in his 75th year. Survived by his wife of 40 years Judy. Cherished father of Abe. Also survived by brother Karel Cernovsky, brother-in-law Larry O'Meara, cousin Olga Zajicek, his nieces Rene and Jana, his nephews Zdenek and Jirka and many extended family.
Zack had a long and respected career at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital’s Addiction Unit and later at the London Psychiatric Hospital. Even after his retirement Zack was very active in his profession and published many scientific papers. He was also a Professor of Psychiatry, Dept. of Psychiatry, at the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University and research scientist at Lawson Health Research Institute. Zack's wisdom, kindness, and thoughtfulness were a gift to his family, friends, and colleagues. He will be sorely missed by many.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday afternoon, October 30th from 1 -2pm in 1/2 hour increments.
