It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the children announce the passing of our family matriarch, Anna DeSando. Passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-one years old surrounded by her loving family in London, Ontario. Born on February 15th, 1940 in Curinga, Italy. Beloved wife of the late Domenico DeSando (2001). Adored mother of John DeSando, Vito DeSando, Rose Bilotta (Joe), Bruno DeSando (Heather), Joe DeSando (Luisa), Vince DeSando (Marianne), and mother-in-law of Tonia DeSando. Cherished Nonna of Anna DeSando, Maria Christina Bilotta (Francesco Devito), Anna Bilotta, Dominic DeSando (Carmelina Manganaro), Rebecca Caranci (Jeremy), Felicia Rollins (Murray), Thomas Bilotta, Laura DeSando (Cameron Scott), Paul DeSando, and David DeSando. Bisnonna of Arianna, Aurora, and Audrina Rollins, Italya Devito and soon to be Baby DeSando. Sister of Elizabeth Pettinato (Bruno). Also survived by her many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Vito Trimini and Annunziata Zarola, her brother Giuseppe Trimini, her sister Maria Trimini (Bruno Russo), her father in-law Giovanni DeSando and mother in-law Rosaria Mazza, and her brothers and sisters in-law Maria Concetta and Francesco Colombo, Bruno and Maria DeSando, Isabella and Bruno Predonzan, Palma and Antonio Perugino, Joseph and Concettina DeSando, and Vincenzo and Adelina DeSando. The family would like to thank the Neurology and Palliative Care Medical Teams at University Hospital for their compassion and care of our mother. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, July 23rd from 2:00-2:30 (full), 2:30-3:00 (full), 3:00-3:30 (full), 3:30-4:00 (full), 4:00-4:30 (full), 4:30-5:00 (full), and 6:00-6:30 (full), 6:30 -7:00 (full), 7:00-7:30 (full), 7:30-8:00 (full), 8:00-8:30 (full), 8:30-9:00 (full). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Saturday, July 24th at 12 noon. (Church is full) (Those wishing to join the family via livestream may do so at www.StMaryLondon.ca) Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions numbers are limited and registration is required. Please call 519 434-2708 between 10am and 4pm to register for a visitation time and/or for the Mass. Donations to St. Mary’s Church Restoration Fund or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Anna DeSando.
