Obituary of Ileana Berthoty

August 1, 1932 - January 12, 2021 With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ileana Suarez Berthoty with family at her side both physically and virtually on Jan 12, 2021 in her 88th year. Beloved wife to the late Louis Berthoty, loving and caring mother to Gary and Dean Berthoty, and Karen Quinn, proud grandmother to Kristen, Erika, James, Erik, and Cole, and great grandmother to Lorelai, Zach, and Rosalyn. Ileana was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Canada to attend Alma College. She continued her education at Brescia College and soon after married her late husband Louis of 61 years. Ileana served as a Math and Spanish teacher at Catholic Central for over 26 years, where she gained the friendship and respect of colleagues and students alike. Ileana enjoyed traveling with her late husband Louis, and visiting her children and their families. Ileana will always be remembered for her kind spirit, youthful energy, listening ear, and selfless commitment to others. The rock of the family will be cherished and missed. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private family funeral service was held with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
