Obituary of Myra Eileen MacLean

MacLean, Myra Eileen Surrounded with the love and respect of her family at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, January 23, 2021 Myra MacLean at the age of 80. Adored and cherished wife of Larry MacLean. Beloved and trusted mother of John (Rita) Crowther and Rob (Elizabeth) Crowther. Much loved by her step sons Bradley (Terry) MacLean and Brock (Khara) MacLean. Adored grandmother of Ireland, Daniel, Hunter, Forrest, Regan, Madison, and Parker. Dear sister of Robert(Jackie) Tuppen, and Derek (Teri) Tuppen. Myra, affectionately known as "Teabag", was the sweetest, kindest and most caring person who always looked for the good in everyone. Myra was born in Aldershot England but grew up in the seaside town of Margate. As a child, she was known to be a bit of a tomboy, climbing trees and hanging by one leg on a branch, doing tricks on her bike until one day she hit a telephone pole, then off to pick wild mushrooms and always looking to get into mischief. Myra was very athletic and played field hockey, netball and tennis. She was educated at Clarendon House and after a brief stint in the Army as an officer cadet, moved on to work in the Foreign Office in London England before emigrating to Canada. Myra possessed a wonderful sense of humour and her infectious laugh would light up a room. Myra spent her retirement years volunteering and giving back. Nearest and dearest were teaching the young school children to read and knitting hundreds of hats and mitts for needy kids across London. This beautiful person who gave the best hugs has left a huge void in the hearts of her family and all those who knew and loved her. Due to Covid restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Baker Centre For Pancreatic Cancer (c/o LHSF.ca) would be gratefully appreciated.
