Obituary of Sean William Hagarty

Sean William Hagarty June 16, 1961-Novemeber 16, 2020 Born June 16th, 1961 in London Ontario, deceased November 16th, 2020. Son of the late Bill Hagarty and Evelyn Reilly. Predeceased by his identical twin brother, Jerry. Brother to Maura (Murray) Bannon, Megan (Geoff Smith), Cathy, and Sarah (Kevin Draxinger). Loving, kind and fun-loving uncle to Matt (Myriam and Clara), Patrick (Sue), Joe and Jack Bannon, Chris (Siobhan DesRoches), Rory (Shawn Thera), and Adam Smith, Caitlyn Hagarty, Callum, Madeleine and Phinneas Draxinger. Beloved cousin to all of the vast Hagarty Clan in Canada and around the world, the Ryan’s of Chicago, and the O’Brian’s of Ireland. Sean grew up in London and spent many happy summers on the shores of Lake Huron, where he and his twin brother enjoyed all manner of outdoor activities, sailing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and biking. Together they planned and joyfully executed numerous shenanigans. These included cleverly ascending ladders and assisting in the painting of a neighbour’s house (age 5), displaying their sisters’ finer articles of clothing vertically on the ivy of the old house on Dufferin Ave, and even defying gravity while ‘flying’ off the garage roof, repeatedly, and further creatively enlisting a rather stiff, cigarette smoking groundhog as the ‘sergeant at arms’ over the mailboxes at the lake. Their Chicago cousins will fondly remember thoughtful gifts of the natural slithering variety tucked away in cozy places on sleepovers. Sean attended Catholic Central HS, Regina Mundi and UWO. He had a keen eye for photography, loved a good book, and to discover and share new music. Most of all he enjoyed dynamic and witty interactions with other people, which made him a natural fit in the service industry. His charming ability to put people at ease, brightened the day of many. He will be missed by his long-standing friendships in the industry, especially at Tiger Jacks. A memorial will be held on the other side of this difficult pandemic time.
