Obituary of Barbara Ann Goddard

Barbara Goddard (nee Powell) passed away peacefully on September 26, 2020. Beloved wife for 64 years of Jake Goddard. Loving mother of Kelly Fraleigh (Rob), Tammy Goddard (Craig) and Michele Kimbark (Kim). Cherished grandmother to Kristy Fleet (Jason), Ryan Fleet, Amanda Stewart (Iain), Jeremy Jennison (Ashley), Rebecka Jennison, and Courtney, Tanner, and Austin Kimbark. Dear great grandmother to Owen and Preston Stewart, Sophie, Audrey and Henry Jennison and Madeleine, Charlotte Beschorner. Beloved sister to Darrell Powell (Joey), Brenda Duncan (Jamie), Wendy Powell, and Todd Powell (Tracy). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and many friends. Pre-deceased by her siblings Brian Powell and Kathy Powell. Barb was fondly called the Irish Queen by Jake and the rest of the family. She loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. Barb enjoyed reading, baking anything sweet, knitting, and in the last years word searches. She kept (hoarded) everything, her journals, cards, letters, and collections of whatever fascinated her. She really enjoyed her work at Eldon House which was her last job before retirement. Many thanks to the staff at Ashwood Manor, McCormick Home Day Program, and a very special thanks to Keeley for her steadfast care. In keeping with Barb’s wishes there will not be a service and cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. To honour Barb’s compassion for people, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Salvation Army Centre of Hope or a charity of your choice.
