Obituary of Suzanne Marie Clifford
Suzanne Marie Clifford (Simmons)
After a 3 month struggle with advanced Alzheimerʼs, on April 9th, in her 80th year, Suzanne passed away peacefully at University Hospital with her husband Bill at her bedside. She died on the birthday of her only daughter Lisa Pensa (Marc); and is also survived by her devoted sons Shawn (Anna) & DʼArcy (Pamela). Reunited in heaven with her parents Bob & Marie, her dear brother Bob (Jennie) and her firstborn son Tom. Dearly loved grandmother to Cassie, Nicole, Samantha, Danielle, Maggie, Melissa, Amanda, Peter, Robert, Allison & Monica. Also predeceased by special cousins Don and Virgie, her surrogate siblings since childhood. Aunt to many nieces and nephews, including special lifelong friends, Carol, Linda and Cathy. Also survived by very dear friends Mary Black and Marj Graham. Suzanne was among the 1st generation of women to work outside the home. In addition to being a loving wife & mother, she was a role model for hard work & determination to her children for over 40 years. She had a devout faith, an acute intellect and an equally sharp wit. Special thanks to all the nurses, PSWʼs, physical and occupational therapists, doctors, social workers & cleaning staff at University Hospital who took such great care of our wife & mother over the past 3 months. Our society is indebted to your selfless service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimerʼs Society of Canada or the Boyʼs & Girlʼs Club of London would be welcome. There will be no visitation or funeral mass at the current time due to Covid-19; however a celebration mass will be arranged at an appropriate & safe time. These may be strange & difficult times for everyone, while our love will endure all things.
