I had the the privilege of working with JD at MEC. Our conversations were light and fun. His attitude and positivity kept my days from becoming a regular average day. I really wish he was here as we had planned on going out for a bevi during the nice weather. My condolences to JD's family and friends. Miss your tree planting stories. Your friend, Ben Aspden

Dear Jenn and Moe, I adored JD. He truely was a "Renaissance Man." His wit, compassion, conviction, creativity, passion, joy and laughter are only some of the qualities that so endeared him to myself and my sons, Noah and Daniel. My heart is saddened by the loss of this amazing soul. We shared so many long talks, belly laughs and time together. I will carry him forever in my heart and truely believe that Heaven has just recieved its newest angel. JD has found peace and serenity and will continue to watch over us as we carry on until we meet again. May God hold you and your family in the palm of His hand. Much love and prayers to you. We were group mates with JD at Fanshawe. He was one of the kindest, nicest people I have ever met. His smile was always sincere and good, with a slight tone of sadness, and his heart was wide open to everyone. I will be missing JD dearly

As a mother and as your friend my heart aches for your loss. As I try to find something uplifting I remember that like you, over the years, we too have said goodbye to many beloved pets. Since JD loved dogs and perhaps animals in general, its a comfort to think of JD now as their heavenly shepherd. May you find solace in knowing that he, like them, is now at peace. Love, hugs and any support you need, Sheila

Dear Jennifer and Moe,
I am so terribly sorry to hear about JD's passing. His love of music and the arts, making things with his hands, writing, photography, adventures, biking, literature, and golf, stand out in my mind as the things that made him a great human being. He was a person who was passionate about life, justice, and art. We kept in touch over the years and he was always kind, generous, and full of interesting news and ideas. I have attached a couple of photos of me and JD in high school. One is in Tobermory from the summer up at Miller Lake and the other is from a Medway formal. Sending you both lots of love at this time. Also thinking of Geoff and Mike, Ad and Mike Balderston. I am a richer person having known JD. Warmly, Kate Lawson

I didn't know JD well. He was my boyfriend's neighbour, but I feel compelled to write and say that JD was an incredibly kind spirit who has left a lasting, positive impression on us. He was the kind of person you met and just KNEW had a beautiful, honest heart. His presence in our building was a much-needed peace that will be so missed. My sincere condolences to those closest to him.
