Obituary of George Edward Power

POWER, G.E. Ted Peacefully surrounded bu his loving family at L.H.S.C. University Hospital on October 29, 2011; Ted Power, 2 days short of his 80th birthday. Loving husband and best friend of Alice for over 56 years. Cherished mentor and 'Bestest Dad' to his beloved children Kim Power, Karen Skinner and her husband Al, Kevin and his wife Carol, Kelley Walker and her husband Wayne, and Kathleen 'Kik' Power. Devoted grandpa to Karly, Kaytlyn, Kole, Jordan, Jason, Josh, Jessica, Kent, Christopher, Candace, Kevin, Alexander, the late Whitney; and great grandfather to Victoria, James, Brody and Sloane. Dear brother of Mary Shear (Ken), Joy Dekker (Bert), Jean DiPalma (Russ), Pat Baubonis (Jim), the late Jack, Dot O'Toole (Ed), Bob and Marjorie Smrek. Brother-in-law to Mary Power, Sally Power and Frank Smrek. Remembered by nieces, nephews and his extended family. Ted will be remembered by many generations from his involvement in hockey as a player and coach and for his love of all sport. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Divine Church, 390 Baseline Road West, on Wednesday morning November 2, 2011 at 11 o'clock. Prayers Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Cremation following with interment of cremated remains at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Living London or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
