Obituary of Pauline Elisabeth Godes

GODES, Pauline (Barry) Peacefully, at Mount Hope Centre for Long-Term Care, London on Tuesday, December 30th, 2008, following a courageous battle with Alzheimers disease. Beloved wife of the late Roger Godes (2008). Loving mother of John Godes and his wife Cathy Nother. Proud grandma of Mark and Amanda. Dear sister of Michelle MacPherson (Alex). Born April 28, 1926 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Pauline was very proud of her French-Canadian heritage. Pauline lived in Hamilton for more than 30 years before moving to London in 1997. After several years at Bell Canada, she left to dedicate her time to family and volunteer work. She will be fondly remembered by friends and family for her humour, gentle strength and optimism. Pauline was kind and considerate to all that she met. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London, on Monday, January 5th, 2009 from 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady's Chapel of St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, Dufferin Ave. at Richmond, on Tuesday January 6, 2009 at 10 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Special thanks to all of the wonderful staff on the 3rd floor of Marian Villa. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation would be appreciated.
